Are you interested in knowing what a volunteer shift looks like ?

​Usually a shift consists of signing in, checking what the previous volunteer did and then we follow these 4 lead point:
- Walk - Play - Feed - Clean -
​
Shifts tend to be around 25-30 minutes, depending on what you like to do, how long you want to go on a walk and other factors.
Our usual shift times are:

- 0700 - 1200 - 1800 - 2200 -
We encourage volunteers to come in whenever they can and spend time with the animals, even if it is not for a shift. Thats why the shift times are more like guidelines and its okay to come a little earlier or later.

To be a Homeward Bound Volunteer you must:
​

Care about animal welfare
-
Be at least 16 years of age or be accompanied by a guardian

Fill out a Volunteer Application.

Attend a Volunteer Orientation
-
Be willing to demonstrate a positive attitude when working with public and fellow volunteers.
